Annual Singapore World Water Day

Water security has been an ongoing concern in Singapore for a long time. In order to become more self-sufficient in providing clean water for its citizens, Singapore has been investing in advanced infrastructure and R&D to come up with innovative solutions for the water sector and diversify its water sources.
Therefore, to appreciate water and raise awareness on water conservation, Singapore celebrates the Singapore World Water Day every year in March. The month-long celebrations include activities such as lighting up local landmarks in blue, encouraging the public to make a pledge for water conservation, an overnight water conservation camp, among many others. Brands like Apple, McDonald’s and Ben & Jerry’s as well as schools such as Nanyang Polytechnic also take part in the celebrations.
